The morning of Tuesday 2nd saw one of the roads out of the village closed due to an abnormally heavy load. The 132kV transformer required special haulage equipment, police escort and all the bridges over the rhines strengthening. The complete length of the trailer and tractor units was 65.4 meters, it was 4.34 meters wide and weighted a massive 359 tonnes. The trailer had 2 bogies with 7 axels each, and there were 8 wheels per axel, thats 112 wheels!

Oldbury Horicultural Society Annual Show
Oldbury's Horticultural Society held it's annual show on Saturday (6th) in the Pavilion in Westmarsh Lane. With no less than 96 different classes to enter, the Pavilion was packed with all kinds of fruit, vegetables, flowers, cakes, and handicrafts.

On Saturday 12th, at the Westmarsh Lane playing fields, the Revd. David Primrose officially opened the new Decker's bus which was kindly donated by First Bus. Youth leader, Andrew Gazard, cut the bus cake during the refreshments that followed.
