Alan spiking the football pitch, click for a bigger picture. Sunday 4th and Alan Knapp volunteers to spike the football pitch with "something" he picked up at an argricultural sale. It is an amazing contraption that jabs spikes 8 inches into the soil to help with drainage.

The "shy and retiring" village school headmaster, Mr Tony Cooper, opened the Church Fete at Naite Farm, on Saturday 10th. Tony is leaving Oldbury School at the end of this summer term to take up the headship at another school, in Patchway. Ms Leaper will be acting head for the forthcoming year. We all wish both Mr & Mrs Cooper all the best for the future.
Unfortunately the rain did arrive halfway through the afternoon, and many people went home and then came back with their coats!!! A lot of the stalls stayed open despite the rain, most appropiately the Flipping Frogs carried on regardless. It looks like around £1100 was raised, a similar amount to last year which is fantastic considering the weather.
